Prior to export, plants must be inspected by a government entomologist and shown to be free of injurious pests and pathogens. The target pests and diseases of concern vary by destination country, which means that some countries have stricter import regulations than others.
Although our licensed nursery receives monthly inspections, many of the plants we receive and prepare for export are sourced from private growers whose collections are not regularly inspected. As such, depending on the company or individual from which you source your plants, as well as the health/status of the plant when it arrives at our facility, it may take between 30-90 days before your plant is ready for export.
We have successfully exported to Canada, the United Kingdom, many countries within the European Union, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Although regulatory restrictions for the export of live plants vary by country, we are constantly expanding our services to new locations so feel free to reach out on IG @botanophile, or send us an email at help@btnphl.com if your country isn’t listed here.
You are responsible for paying the export fees for each plant as it is ordered; phytosanitary inspection fees, flat-rate handling fees, and shipping courier costs should be paid once plants are prepped for international shipping.
You are responsible for sourcing plants to be delivered to our facility, and for regularly updating your export datasheet when new orders are placed. Once your plants arrive at our facility, they are quarantined (i.e., kept isolated from other nursery inventory) until they have been inspected and declared free from injurious pests and pathogens by a state entomologist.
Once your plants have been inspected and found to be healthy and pest-free, we apply for a phytosanitary certificate and initiate the shipping process. Plants are prepared according to the regulations of your country (e.g., many countries require all soil to be removed from the roots) and typically shipped by the courier of your choosing within one week of inspection.
No. Because each country has specific regulatory requirements for the import of live plants, you are responsible for contacting local authorities and ensuring that all paperwork and procedures in your country have been completed appropriately.
Our facility breeds and propagates a variety of aroid species and hybrids, and we are happy to provide recommendations for other growers we trust and have worked with in the past; however, we do not source plants from other growers, nor do we negotiate with them on your behalf.
Yes, however we are currently unable to accept new groups.
